On Tuesday, Edie Windsor, a champion of human rights, passed away at age 88. You can read more about that here.

Delivering Windsor’s eulogy was Hillary Clinton at the Temple Emanu-El in New York.

“She (Windsor) refused to give up on the promise of America,” Clinton said according to reports. “There wasn’t a cynical, defeatist bone in her body.”

During the eulogy, Clinton touched base on Windsor’s career working in technology during a time in which that was a rarer find. Also, she noted Windsor’s strong and inspiring relationship to Thea Spyer. The relationship lasted for 40 years before Spyer's death. Windsor went on to marry Judith Kasen in 2016.

“Their devotion to each other was its own quiet revolutionary act,” Clinton said.
