Aged 50 or older?

Study examines factors related to the healath and well-being of LGBT people 50 and over.

If you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer and are age 50 or over, you are invited to participate in a study about factors related to the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer (LGBTQ+) adults aged 50 and older.

A research team from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater have been working for a number of years to advocate for and learn more about things that contribute to the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer adults aged 50 or over.

This study is part of that broader research and has two specific purposes: 1) to learn more about whether the measures in this study, which have been used with younger adults who identify as LGBT+, are also valid for individuals aged 50 or older; and 2) to look at the relationship between these measures and a measure of health and well-being.

You are eligible for this study if you are aged 50 and over and identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer. If you are interested in learning more about this study, visit www.tinyurl.com/gqpc4yh.

“We hope you are able to be part of this research,” said organizers excitedly! “What we learn will be reported as group data only and made available to service agencies, health and mental health providers, equality centers, professional journals, meetings, or others who request it. Your participation is voluntary and you will receive no compensation except to know you are contributing to knowledge about an important matter.”
