Congresswoman files lawsuit challenging name change to the Kennedy Center

Congresswoman Joyce Beatty has filed a lawsuit challenging the addition of President Donald Trump's name to the Kennedy Center.
Beatty is an Ohio Democrat and an Ex-Officio Trustee of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
She says a recent vote by the Center's board of trustees to add Trump's name exceeded the authority given to the board by Congress.
New signage featuring the president's name was installed the day after the vote.
The White House was contacted for comment.
In a statement, Beatty said only Congress has the authority to rename the Kennedy Center.
Some experts say that while the board's decision was likely unlawful, it's unclear whether an individual would be allowed to challenge it in court.
