OkEq showcase works of Chris and Colleen Stiles in September

(Tulsa, OK)The September Oklahomans for Equality (OkEq) showcase and exhibit of local artists at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center will present the combined works of husband and wife team Chris and Colleen Stiles in a show beginning with a reception on Thursday, September 6th from 6-9 pm and continuing throughout the month.

 

The works of Chris and Colleen Stiles are best described as completely independent yet somehow intrinsically intertwined - creating an environment brimming with implications.

Chris Stiles creates mixed medium paintings that are a result of looking around and again; spanning an introspective and organic journey through life’s obstacles and nuances. Chris received his MFA from Radford University in 2000 and teaches secondary and post secondary studio art. His work has been exhibited both nationally and abroad.

Colleen Stiles creates life-sized figurative sculptures using body casts which are finished in a variety of media. She also creates detailed drawings. Her work reflects both personal and societal commentary. Colleen received her BFA from Oklahoma State University in 1997, and is a professional graphic designer. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and abroad.

The show begins with a reception on Thursday, September 6th from 6-9pm at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center, located at 621 E. 4th Street in Downtown Tulsa. There will be a door prize drawn of the artist’s work; the show continues throughout the month. www.okeq.org
