It’s time to join the crowd advancing equality at the ninth annual Equality Gala, presented by the Northwest Arkansas (NWA) Center for Equality. The event will be held Friday, November 13, at Fayetteville Town Center in Fayetteville, AR. You’ll enjoy a diverse selection of food and drink, silent auction and more as local people and businesses driving change are honored.

“One of the most notable and fun changes will be the inclusion of several local restaurant partners who will be offering a selection of their tastiest foods,” said Chaz Allen, NWA Center for Equality Board President. “We’re fortunate to have such strong local support from our food service friends and are excited at the variety of offerings. There will be something for everyone to enjoy.”

Walmart and Sam’s Club are again the presenting sponsor for the gala and have contributed many volunteer hours toward the event in addition to their strong involvement throughout the year.

“We’re honored that Walmart continues to be one of our most ardent supporters,” Allen said.

The gala is the largest fundraiser for the NWA Center for Equality and all proceeds are put toward achieving the goals of our programs, services, events and advocacy efforts.

This year the NWA Center for Equality board, staff and volunteers were involved in various capacities throughout the evolution of the Uniform Civil Rights Ordinance, prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, especially in the areas of housing, employment and public accommodations.

“We were very vocal in our support,” adds the NWA Center president. “In addition to financial support, we leveraged our networks and reach to help get activate the community, increase awareness, raise contributions and encourage people to vote. We will most definitely recognize the widespread efforts of the community on this historic achievement!”

Future plans for the center are to expand programs, engage in new partnerships and making events bigger and better. The team is also working to add some additional resources to streamline operations, activities and communications in order to better serve the community.

Individual and student rates for tickets are available - a table for eight may also be purchased. Tickets are available at www.nwaequality.org/equality-gala.
