Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who is widely thought to be on Hillary Clinton’s “short list” for the Democratic Vice Presidential nomination, has long been one of the most aggressive anti-Trump campaigners this year. Trump has responded with racist tinged taunts referring to Warren as Pocahontas, mocking the Oklahoma born Warren’s claimed Native American heritage.

Warren has been a longtime supporter of women’s rights, abortion rights and LGBT rights. So perhaps it should be no surprise that she was underwhelmed by Donald Trump’s choice of Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate. Pence is a staunch conservative, with long-held anti-abortion and anti-LGBT views.

Warren took to Twitter on Saturday to express her displeasure -  or even disgust – at the Trump/Pence team, starting with “.@realDonaldTrump & @mike_pence are a perfect match: Two small, insecure, weak men who use hate & fear to divide our country & our people.”

She then took after both candidates’ views of women, saying, “Of COURSE @realDonaldTrump – a guy who calls women fat pigs & bimbos – picked a VP who is famous for trying to control women’s bodies.”

Warren then doubled down, attacking the GOP platform as well, “What's worse? @realDonaldTrump & @mike_pence’s sexism isn’t some radical fringe of the @GOP. They're in line with the party platform.”

The progressive Senator followed that up with, “The @GOP platform is the most anti-choice ever: defund @PPFA & denounce all abortion. Even cases of rape, incest & woman's potential death.”

Long a supporter of LGBT rights, Warren then turned her attention to the candidates’ and the party’s stance on marriage equality, focusing first on the candidates, “And OF COURSE @realDonaldTrump – a guy who “[doesn’t] feel good” about marriage equality – picked a VP famous for LGBT discrimination.”

And then on the GOP platform again, “The @GOP platform says overturn marriage equality & it supports parents putting their LGBT children through conversion therapy. Disgusting.” And she followed that up with, “The @GOP platform even says that children not from ‘natural marriage’” are more likely to be drug addicts. Hateful AND disgusting.”

Sen. Warren wrapped up her Twitter-storm with, “Terrifying to think of @mike_pence being a heartbeat from presidency – but the direction @GOP wants to take our country is MORE terrifying.”

Selected for VP or not, Sen. Warren is sure to add plenty of color to the campaign over the next few months.
