GLO offers free seminar on the healthcare law for small businesses.

What small businesses need to know about the healthcare law and its LGBT-friendly provisions.
Join ACCESS Project, Springfield Space Spaces, The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of the Ozarks, and Small Business Majority for a free presentation discussing what Missouri small businesses need to know about the healthcare law and its LGBT-friendly provisions. We’ll focus on key federal and state policies to help local small business owners understand how the law affects them.
The seminar will address concerns about healthcare law, LGBT+ provisions, and possible benefits of the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP).
Topics being discussed include:
- Small business tax credits (available to businesses and tax-exempt non-profits)— who’s eligible for them and how to claim them
- Nondiscrimination protections in the healthcare law
- Marketplace updates
- Shared responsibility
- Cost containment
- Tools and resources available for LGBT small businesses interested in learning more about the law
A question and answer period will follow.
The free seminar will be Tuesday, June 30, 5:30pm-6:30pm, at The Creative Foundry, 221 South St., Springfield, MO.
