After a bomb threat around noon today at Chickasha's Walmart, a suspect was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital near Chickasha. No arrests have been made.

Major Elip Moore of the Chickasha Police Department said the suspect could be suffering from mental health issues. At this time police do not believe the suspect was a local man, Moore said.

Walmart associate April Bevill said the man is not the janitor who was recently let go from this location for asking a gay Chickasha couple to leave the store. Neither of the gay men the janitor asked to leave the Wal-Mart last evening are suspects in the incident.

Bevill said she saw police break the window of the truck in question. The man was "acting suspiciously" and police pulled the man out of the vehicle.

She said the man was in his underwear with his pants around ankles and masking tape around each of his legs.

The suspect had duct tape strapped to his body but, according to police reports, no device was found. However, the bomb squad was concerned because a bucket of liquid as well as suspicious wiring in the truck, said Moore.

CDP released a statement at 12:50 today identifying the suspect as Michael Brown, age 42.

The report also states that he suspect had an address in Ponca City and had arrests for DUI and Vandalism in that area but upon further investigation it is believed that the suspect had been living in Chickasha, but was now homeless and living in his vehicle in the Chickasha area.
