On September 21, Londenn Davenport Raine made Miss Gay America history when she captured the inaugural title of Miss Gay Oklahoma America Femme (MGOAF).
To be an eligible candidate for Miss Gay Oklahoma Femme, you must be 21 years of age, be an Oklahoma resident, and identify as cisgender or (pre/post) trans woman.
“Which I met all those requirements and decided to compete to become the inaugural,” said Raine.
“My previous involvement started as a spectator watching old VHS tapes [MGOA] in 2000, and then in 2006, watching it live when Tabitha Taylor was crowned. The following year, I was a dresser and dancer in 2007 when Lindsay Paige was crowned.
“In 2010, I was crowned MGOA in Tulsa. Since my win, I have come back each year to welcome in the new jewel in the MGOA crown, either as an entertainer, host or judge.”
Always dressed in elegance, Raine said she has never made a single garment that she wears.
“I’m very thankful to have friends willing and able to make me shine,” said the Queen. “I have used many designers over my career span, some being Tristan Xavier, Iman Scott, Axyl Zane, Lindsay, Shanel and Sara.”
Her platform for this season is Femme Power, opening the opportunity for all women to shine in the drag industry. Raine is working with the three major cities in Oklahoma to make this happen, so be on the lookout for these showcases as the uplift women.
“As a black trans woman, I fight every day to be seen as human, and our safety is always at highest risk for living our truth. I use the title as a beacon of hope to show other trans youth that it’s ok to be who you are and it’s ok to celebrate your identity. Of course, in that, we have to preach how important it is to get out and vote and make our voices be heard and respected, but making sure, in that preaching, I’m practicing what I preach.”
She keeps busy promoting her platform, promoting the title, and promoting the community.
“I’m currently working with Tulsa Pride to host the event, which has provided lots of promotion for MGOAF! I’m also working on benefits for ICAO as well as the Alzheimer’s Association.”
Raine has won over 40 titles during her 25-year drag career. Here are the Miss Gay Oklahoma titles and national wins I have obtained over the years: Miss Gay Oklahoma America 2010, Miss Oklahoma Bold &Beautiful 2011, Miss Gay Oklahoma USofA 2014, Miss Gay Oklahoma Charity 2015, Miss Gay Oklahoma USofA at Large 2015, Miss Oklahoma American National Star 2017, Miss Gay Oklahoma United States at Large 2021, Miss Gay International Plus 2012, Miss American National Star 2017, Miss Gay United States at Large 2021, and Miss Gay Oklahoma America Femme 2025.
“I think my favorite pageant stories are the ones where you experience actually bonding with your team you bring along to compete with you. They see all the emotions you go through trying to obtain the goal and stick it out with you, even when you might not be successful.”
Raine was raised a military “brat,” she said. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and started college and drag in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Behind the scenes, her partner keeps the home together.
“My partner and I have been together now for 15 years, and we have two children,” said Raine. “This person is the homebody who keeps the household running while I travel and entertain. They have been one of the most supportive and understanding people in my life. Dating someone in the spotlight isn’t always easy, but he lets me be me, regardless.”
Raine made Miss Gay America history the night she won Miss Gay Oklahoma America Femme.
“I’m the only person in the country to hold the Miss and Femme title under the same state franchise, winning the weekend I was celebrating my 15th anniversary!”
