Lt. Dan Choi is a powerful advocate in the fight for LGBT rights. While serving in the military, Lt. Choi was discharged after publicly announcing that he was gay. Choi then began to be very vocal about his views on the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy. His work contributed to the repeal of the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy.

Choi is featured as Wichita State University’s  Anti-Hate and Respect Week's speaker. He will talk about the discrimination he faced once coming out in the military and how he overcame it. Lt. Choi continues to advocate for full LGBT civil rights and veterans' health.

His speech will be Tuesday, March 26, from 7:00 to 9:00pm, in 208 Hubbard Hall, Wichita State University. The event is open to the public.
