OKC school board parts ways with Superintendent Rob Neu

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma City's school board has voted to part ways with district Superintendent Rob Neu.

The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/1SMxuA7) reports Oklahoma City Public Schools' board members met privately before returning to an open session Monday and approving a separation agreement with Neu. He will be on administrative leave through June 30.

Terms of the agreement are confidential.

Aurora Lora, associate superintendent of student achievement and accountability, will run the district through the end of the fiscal year.

About two weeks ago, Neu told some board members about his intention to resign while attending a conference in Boston. The trip, which cost nearly $25,000, came at a time when the district was cutting $13.1 million in teaching and administrative positions.

Neu was tapped to lead Oklahoma City Public Schools in April 2014.
