Oklahoma receipts to treasury continues decline in February

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma's treasurer says receipts to the state treasury continued to decline in February.

State Treasurer Ken Miller says last month's receipts totaled $758.5 million — down almost $90 million compared to February 2015.

Miller said Thursday that February was the 10th consecutive month that state revenues have declined. He says it's the lowest February total since 2011, when Oklahoma's economy was recovering from the Great Recession.

Miller says monthly revenue from oil and natural gas production has been lower than the previous year's receipts for 14 straight months. Collections in February were more than 45 percent lower than February 2015.

Personal income tax collections for the month were $238 million, down by almost $16 million. Corporate income tax collections totaled $8.5 million, down by $7.2 million from last year.
