Tulsa, OK —Described as an experience rather than an event, the annual Red Ribbon Gala will be a red tie affair — the color of AIDS awareness and a symbol of compassion for those affected by the disease. Guests will be met with a parade of red, as they arrive at one of Tulsa’s most imaginative events commemorating twenty five years of the non-profit organization Tulsa CARES.

This year’s gala will be honoring advisory board member Patricia Chernicky, one of Tulsa CARES most enduring, distinguished, and passionate proponents in addition to gala chairmen Jay Krottinger and Ryan Jude Tanner. The presenting sponsor of the event is The George Kaiser Family Foundation.

The Red Ribbon Gala is the largest fundraising activity for Tulsa CARES. A Tulsa Area United Way partner agency, the center has been in existence since 1991. Tulsa CARES serves low-income individuals who are impacted by HIV disease with groceries, congregate meals, rent and utility assistance, group and individual counseling, and professional case management.

“This event provides us with the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of the men, women and children, who suffer from HIV/AIDS. Tremendous medical advances have been made in treatment and care but the overwhelming need so greatly exceeds the available resources that many are still unable to receive the basic necessities of life. Our clients are sick, poor, and often hungry and on top of all of that they have HIV. We have an opportunity to help and the Red Ribbon Gala is the event that sustains our ongoing efforts to fight this disease” says Pat Chernicky.

Tulsa CARES’ Red Ribbon Gala is set for Saturday, February 27th, 2016 at the Cox Business Center and will begin at 6:00 p.m. with cocktails, music, conversation, and an interactive exhibit gallery. Dinner follows at 7:30, followed by the live auction at 8:30 that includes original artwork, jewelry, private dinner parties, and vacation packages. Music and dancing by the band Groove Merchants will follow beginning at 9:30.

Single ticket prices begin at $500 each, which supports one client with transportation assistance for an entire year. Sponsorship packages and reservations for priority seating are also available. This year the Red Ribbon Gala is partnering with Tulsa Young Professionals to offer the option of Junior Sponsors and Junior Ticket prices for those up and coming business men and women that are interested in attending.
