Organizers of the 39th St. District Association say “expect a new look on 39th” in the near future. The District is in the process of selecting a consultant to help us develop the 39th Street District brand. The development of the brand is a critical first step to establishing and communicating the identity of the District.

Plans are being made for a second 39th Street District Festival. The next street festival is coming in early summer 2016.

“We’ve heard many times from the community what a unique place 39th Street is,” said 39th Street District Association president, Craig Poos in a recent interview about the district. “As a result, we’re challenging ourselves to provide a mix of new music and exciting festival activities that will highlight the potential we have here in the district. With this event, we’re hoping to raise awareness of the district to new heights.”

Last year, the one-day festival and street party featured some of the hottest local performers in jazz, rock, hip hop, electro, indie, and Americana music while celebrating the district and raising awareness of the commercial revitalization efforts underway in on 39th.

For the remainder of 2015, 39th is offering free business memberships (to the end of the year). If you own a business or property in the 39th District we want to extend to you a free membership for the remainder of 2015 so you can see what we are doing to improve the district. Organizers say, “We hope you will be excited by these developments and will want to join!”

39th invites you to be part of the team and to be a part of the progress – and the fun. Email 39thDistrictOKC@mail.com to receive updates or visit www.39thdistrictokc.com.

The 39th Street District Association was formed to promote commerce and community in the 39th District and lead efforts to transform the District into a diverse, pedestrian-friendly, welcoming and cultural area.
