This month, you can catch the releases of two LGBT+ stories at home and in the theater.

Battle of the Sexes hits theaters September 22nd and tells the story of tennis player, Billie Jean King. In 1973, King played against Bobby Riggs, a proud male chauvinist.

Through this match, King was trying to prove that women could match a male competitor with an equal amount of skill and stamina. King went on to win the match.

King eventually came out as a lesbian in 1981 and retired from tennis two years later.

If you have Amazon Prime, check out season 4 of Transparent. It is a show that tells the story of a family’s lives after their father starts to transition into a woman. Outside of its use of transgender representation, the show also discusses the complexities of sexuality.

The beginning of the season will see the Pfefferman family off to Israel (as they are Jewish) to connect with their heritage.

You can catch season 4 starting September 22nd on Amazon Prime.
