Paseo hosts First Friday Gallery Walk July 6th


Oklahoma City, OK - The Paseo Arts District’s First Friday Gallery Walk for July will take place Friday, July 6 from 6:00-10:00pm and Saturday, July 7 from 12:00- 5:00pm. Twenty galleries featuring more than 75 artists will host opening receptions, promising something for everyone.

a.k.a. gallery on the Paseo is always a favorite hot-spot for the gay community as well as others. Gallery owner Ashley Griffith is dedicated to the promotion of national and local artists, featuring the works of Richard Kieffman & Marilyn Artus for the month of July. a.k.a also supports fine art organizations that foster social awareness and promote environmental issues.

Paseo-specific First Friday events planned for July include The Art Bar: Art Inspired by Cocktails at In Your Eye Gallery (3005A Paseo). For this exhibition, artists Gayle Curry, Regina Murphy, Michelle Metcalfe, Nicki Albright, Lynn Cummings have each created a body of work that celebrates friendship, the creative process, and the art of mixology.

At Paseo ArtSpace (3022 Paseo), artist Matt Myers presents Chaos: a series of large-scale, ethereal paintings rendered in evocative color schemes.

JRB at the Elms (27th and Walker) features the exhibition Horses, with work by some of Oklahoma’s most celebrated and collected artists: Jennifer Hustis, Brent Learned, Jean Richardson, and Joe Andoe.

At A Jeweler’s Art (3018 Paseo), gallery owner Sheridan Conrad features a national juried show, Spirituality in Jewelry and Metals, exploring the spiritual traditions of jewelry-making and the emotional links between jewelry and wearer.

Paseo, Oklahoma City’s historic arts district, is where art and history come alive. Dozens of galleries, three restaurants and a handful of shops stand in distinctive Spanish Mission Revival style buildings, all within walking distance.
