Oklahoma City Ballet will perform the magical classic, The Nutcracker, presented by Devon Energy and The Chickasaw Nation, December 11–21 at the Civic Center Music Hall. Every performance will come to life with Tchaikovsky’s timeless score performed live by the Oklahoma City Philharmonic (OKCPHIL), with live vocals from Canterbury Youth Voices during the Waltz of the Snowflakes.

Artistic Director Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye’s production blends traditional magic with fresh, whimsical twists. Debuting to rave reviews in 2024, this lavish production features challenging choreography, cinematic sets, and more than 195 handcrafted costumes designed by some of the industry’s top artisans.

“Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, this year’s Nutcracker promises an unforgettable experience,” said Artistic Director Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye. “We’ve kept all the enchantment of our sets, costumes, and choreography, while adding a few delightful surprises to keep the show fresh.”

This season’s production brings together 25 professional dancers from Oklahoma City Ballet, 34 OKCBII company members, over 110 students from the Yvonne Chouteau School, and partner organizations OKCPHIL and Canterbury Youth Voices.

“Thanks to the incredible support of Devon Energy and the Chickasaw Nation, Oklahoma City Ballet has been able to reach new creative heights,” said Dana McCrory, John Kirkpatrick Executive Director. “This breathtaking production is resonating deeply with our local community while earning national acclaim.”
