Dykes Of Hazzard – it’s dirty, it’s fun and they even have pork rinds

“Dykes Of Hazzard”, Late Night Theatre’s spoof of TV’s “Dukes of Hazzard” opens May 5 at Missie B’s in Kansas City, Mo. Photo provided.

Kansas City’s ultimate parody troupe is at it again, taking on the TV show, Dukes of Hazzard. Late Night Theatre’s Dykes Of Hazzard opens May 5 and runs through June 17. The show, which features an all-girl cast, will be at KCMO’s Missie B’s.

The Late Night Theatre troupe is going back to its raw roots – in a bar. It’s dirty, it’s fun and they even have pork rinds.

The Dyke Girls are in trouble. Someone has stolen the General Roberta Lee and the girls need to make a moonshine run. Will the butch Boss Hog destroy their plans? Will there be a car chase? Will Daisy Duke sing in cut off shorts? You just need to see the show to find out.

The all-girl cast includes Stasha Case as BoAnn Dyke, Katie Gilchrist as Luke Dyke, Ashley Otis as Daisy Dyke, Shannon Michalski as the evil Boss Hogg, Jessica Dressler as Rita P. Coltrane and Annie Cherry as the lovable Aunt Jessie.

The show is written by Jessica Dressler and Ron Megee and directed by Megee. Wigs and makeup are by Andy Chambers and Alan Dunham of Wonderland.

Late Night Theatre’s current production, Golden! Girls Gone Wilder! is a parody of TV’s Golden Girls.

It runs through April 21. The show includes Ron Megee as Dorothy, Gary Campbell as Ma, Stephonne Singleton as Blanche, Chadwick Brooks as Rose, Ryan Gove as a huge number of characters and Martin Buchanan as Stan.

You must be 21 to see either show – it’s in a bar, after all. Tickets to each production is $20 and may be purchased online at www.latenighttheatre.com. The shows are at Missie B’s, 805 W. 39th St. in KCMO.
