FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Former Baltimore Ravens reserve linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo is taking his support for gay marriage to South Florida where his career started.

The 36-year-old Ayanbadejo will join the civil rights organization Equality Florida on Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale for a press conference.

He's been an open proponent for gay marriage and recently spoke at a rally on the steps of the Supreme Court. Earlier this month he told The Baltimore Sun that up to four NFL players may soon come out as gay.

Ayanbadejo spoke openly about his belief in gay marriage in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. That echoed a stance he took in November, before Maryland voted to pass a law approving gay marriage.

Ayanbadejo started his career with Miami in 2003.
