The stage adaptation of the beloved classic film Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (IBWC) is coming to Oklahoma this holiday season and one of Oklahoma’s own bright stars is in the cast. Natasha Searse, an ensemble cast member, says she is thrilled to return to the magic of IBWC.

“It’s just so exciting to come back to Oklahoma to perform,” said Searce. “This is my home away from home!”

The young actress currently lives in New York City but from time-to-time returns to this region to perform on stage at Lyric, Oklahoma City University (her alma mater) and Music Theatre of Wichita (MTWichita).

“In fact, my favorite memories of performing theatre in Oklahoma was when I was performing the Christmas stories,” adds the actress excitedly. “OKC is a real moving forward city, but it’s still real traditional and you really bring the holiday story to them and that is my favorite part. And now, what am I doing here? I’m in White Christmas!

“I also love performing in Wichita. That space there, Century II, is amazing. I love that city. I remember doing CrazyFor You and it was my first character role. The audience in Wichita is so supportive. It’s just a very inviting environment and I love performing there.”

Searce was in the IBWC Broadway National show last year as well. Impressively, just as she graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Dance Major degree, she landed the role in the ensemble cast.

IBWC tells the story of two showbiz buddies putting on a show in a picturesque Vermont inn, and finding their perfect mates in the bargain. Full of dancing, romance, laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written, including “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep,” “Happy Holiday,” “Sisters,” “Blue Skies,” and the unforgettable title song, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas promises to be a merry and bright experience for the entire family!

“We’re coming to OKC and Tulsa earlier in the holiday season,” adds Searce. “It’s just a great way to start out the entire holiday season.”
