On Monday, at 3:01 p.m. CST, a statement was sent out regarding Oklahoma City Public School Superintendent, Rob Neu:

“STATEMENT REGARDING STATUS OF SUPERINTENDENT ROB NEU

"Currently there hasn’t been any formal resignation paperwork submitted by Mr. Neu. The OKC Board of Education is planning on holding a special meeting to address this topic on Thursday (04/14) at 5:30 p.m., the OKCPS Board Clerk is in the process of formally filing the meeting.”

His apparent resignation, however, was prematurely reported and wholly incorrect.

Today, April 12, 2016, Neu reported:

“I have not resigned. I am very disappointed that this was reported in the news media. I have no further comment at this time.”

Although recent changes to state education funding by Gov. Mary Fallin have given the Oklahoma public school system more challenges, Neu has not given any indication that he will be resigning.
