Oklahoma Women's Coalition celebrates success at end of year event

OKLAHOMA CITY – The primary organization responsible for raising awareness, educating and advocating for issues related to women and girls in Oklahoma is hosting an event on Thursday, June 30 to celebrate legislative success. The Oklahoma Women's Coalition's End of Year Celebration will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Dunlap Codding, 609 W. Sheridan, Oklahoma City.
Sen. Kyle Loveless (R) and Rep. Jeannie McDaniel (D) will speak at the event, which is open to the public. Attendees will learn about the Coalition's accomplishments and successes during the legislative session and how individuals and organizations can help the Coalition's efforts to improve the lives of Oklahoma women and girls. There will be a silent auction and raffle during the event.
"Sadly, the good news doesn't get the same headlines as the bad, and you may not have heard about the positive change the Oklahoma Women's Coalition is bringing to the state through our legislative successes during session," said OWC Executive Director Danielle Ezell. "We look forward to hearing from Representative McDaniel and Senator Loveless about the positive actions taken at the Capitol this spring that will create better opportunities for girls and women in Oklahoma."
Oklahoma Women's Coalition had its most successful legislative session in the nonprofit's history. OWC introduced or supported nine pieces of legislation that will improve the lives of women and girls. The nonprofit also played a hand in the Equal Pay legislation that died in the Senate on the last day of session.
This event is free to the public and no RSVP is necessary. For more information, please call (405) 286-0356.
The Oklahoma Women's Coalition, a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit, does not endorse or oppose candidates for public office or political parties. We seek to identify and promote bills and policies benefiting women and girls that can win support from Republican and Democratic members of the Oklahoma Legislature.
