PPGP’s “Generations Strong” event will feature Tulsa Drag Queens

Also featuring a special performance by Count Tutu

Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) is thrilled to announce Count Tutu and several local drag queens as the performers for Generations Strong (Party for PP) on Friday, November 15. Supporters are invited to celebrate their body, their expression and Planned Parenthood in their community at this year’s event.

Generations Strong is PPGP’s annual fundraiser to support the essential sexual and reproductive health care PPGP provides to its more than 10,000 patients each year in Oklahoma. This year’s theme is Come As You Are, and guests are encouraged to wear whatever authentically represents themselves.

PPGP has been a leading provider of sexual and reproductive health care for nearly 85 years, serving women, men, and families in communities across Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

“Generations Strong is an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate what makes each of us unique, as well as support the sexual and reproductive health care we all need and deserve,” said Tamya Cox-Toure, PPGP regional director of public policy and organizing.

“Planned Parenthood prides itself as being a place for people of all identities to receive expert, nonjudgmental health care. With our community’s support, we will continue to protect the right for everyone to access that care.”

Each year, PPGP provides care to nearly 30,000 people in their 11 health centers and reach nearly 5,500 people through their comprehensive sex education programming.

Drag queens who will be taking the stage alongside groove funk Tulsa band Count Tutu include the night’s emcee Corinne DeVille, Scrappy Legacy, Sara De La Hoya, Camille Crush DeVille, and current Miss Gay Oklahoma America 2019 Erikka Shaye.

Generations Strong will be on Friday, November 15, at Cain’s Ballroom. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with a VIP event at 6 p.m. The VIP event will feature a bartender competition from some of Tulsa’s greatest local bartenders. Patrons will be able to taste test original cocktail recipes and vote on their favorite.
