‘Supreme Beings’ divided up gender roles?

Being a woman is hard, but sometimes it’s more fun than you think. Parallel Lives, written by Kathy Najimy and Mo Gaffney, will be coming to The Boom Dinner Theater August 2-17, starring Vanity Halston and Shelly Phelps.
Directed by Rodney Brazil, Parallel Lives opens with two Supreme Beings planning the beginning of the world. Vanity and Shelly then whisk the audience through an outrageous universe, playing both men and women struggling through the common rituals of modern life.
Vanity and Shelly play a variety of roles in this series of satirical sketches, ranging from two Supreme Beings dividing up gender responsibilities, to working women undergoing the torture of dressing for a day on the job, to teen age kids on their first date.
Parallel Lives was a cult classic back in the eighties and is filled with adventure, insight and humor. It also exposes the satirical side of feminism.
Show times are 8:00 pm Fridays and Saturdays, beginning August 2. Tickets for general admission are $15 and are available through the online Box Office at www.AllThatTeases.com or at the door.
The Boom is located at 2218 NW 39th St. OKC, OK 73112.
