Tulsa’s LGBT film fest returns

After a four-year hiatus, OUT OK is returning with an awesome line-up of films. It has been a fortuitous year in gay independent film making which has yielded a bumper crop of stellar films from the international community.
“Each film has a unique perspective and a distinct voice,” said Philip Au, the director and programmer for OUT OK. “Nine incredible films; nine incredible stories.”
Au attended various film festivals around the world and was ecstatic by the breadth of stories and the spectacular quality of films that were available for “cine-philes and popcorn munchers.” He was concerned that these great movies risked being relegated to the Blu-ray home market. This would deprive them of a much needed and deserved screening in a joyously dark theatre. “It was time for Act II,” added Au.
On November 15, 16, and 17, OUT OK will unspool its compact but diverse and relevant crop of films to a starving audience. Works include:Getting Go, a boy meets go-go boy love story set amidst today's technology. The spotlight film is a controversial thriller from France that won two prizes at Cannes this year. Stranger by the Lake is an intense film that questions our choices when our libido is in overdrive. Reaching for the Moon is the true love story of two iconic women. The closing film is a laugh-fest. GBF, aka Gay Best Friend is guaranteed to have everyone rolling in the aisles. For more details and ticket information, go to http://www.out-ok.com/
