Parents protest approved LGBT curriculum by keeping children out of school

Rocklin Unified School District in California approved curriculum including LGBTQ+ figures in elementary school lessons. In response, hundreds of parents kept their children at home on Friday.
Close to 1,000 Rocklin residents signed a petition requesting that the district delays the new curriculum on the basis that elementary students are too young to learn about sexual orientation.
“We believe that anyone who has made a significant contribution to society should, of course, be included in our history textbooks,” Informed Parents of Rocklin spokeswoman Rachel Crutchfield told Life News. “However, the concept of sexual orientation is far too complex of a topic for elementary-aged children to be introduced to at school. Children in second grade simply do not have the tools to comprehend sexuality, nor do we want them to. Let’s let kids be kids.”
