PFLAG Norman presents "TRANS TALK: Listening to Our Youth"

"Our youth are engaging us in a conversation about gender that reflects a new national awareness," a PFLAG spokesperson said.

PFLAG Norman will host a panel, "Trans Talk: Listening to Our Youth," on December 3 at 7 p.m. Three panelists will share their experiences and insights regarding how to be supportive of transgender and gender non-conforming youth. The event will be held in the Community Hall of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 1801 W. Brooks, in Norman.  It is free and open to the public.

The "Trans Talk" panelists will be Dallas as the youth voice, Ari Berkowitz speaking from a parent's point of view, and Dr. Heidi Holeman Kamm sharing her perspective as a psychologist with experience in gender identity. Melanie Adams will serve as moderator.

"Our youth are engaging us in a conversation about gender that reflects a new national awareness," a PFLAG spokesperson said. "We have questions. You have questions. The panel will be a listening opportunity to gain understanding about the transgender experience and how to engage with youth that supports their well-being."
