Ms. Rozlyn DuBois has been doing drag/female impersonation for 23 years and now the fabulous queen has a new show Sunday’s at The Copa.
“Lashed was actually a name idea from a friend when the Wreckroom reopened in July of 2017 with Jexa Renae VanDeKamp and only lasted till October,” said DuBois. “We loved the name so much I carried it over to our new show at the Copa.”
DuBois said the thing she has loved the most about Rozlyn is that she can always manage to put a smile on someone’s face.
“I am a dude in a dress that parades around in high heel shoes for your entertainment (I know so many people will be shocked cause they think I am a lady!).”
She said the one thing she love the most is being able to entertain the crowd with her artform.
“Drag, as it may be, has been one of the driving forces in the LGBTQ+ community,” DuBois said. “Many countless hours of charity work, rallying and marching for gay rights around the world, not to mention all the entertainment we provide to not only our gay community, but with our straight allies bridging the gap of acceptance between our communities.”
DuBois said there will be a set cast of herself, Lindsay Paige and Harmony Nyte each week with rotating cast of Vicki Dillard, Erika Shaye, Alanna Paige and Stacey McBride Oneill.
“We want to invite everyone out each week for a new and fun show experience on the 39th St. Strip.”
The Copa is located inside Hotel Habana (2240 NW 40th St. in OKC) just inside the west entrance. Doors open at 9 p.m. tonight and every Sunday for Lashed, and the show begins at 11 p.m. Free passes are available from any cast member and will be available at the Finishline to get in free before 11.
