OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is cautioning drivers that Sunday's winter storm has rendered travel on the state's roadways treacherous.

The agency says crews are clearing, salting and sanding roads in the western and central part of the state. Highways and bridges are slick and hazardous from Beaver County, south to Harmon and Tillman Counties, east to Garvin County and north to Grant County, because of a mix of winter precipitation.

The agency also says Interstate 35 north of Oklahoma City and Interstate 40 west of Oklahoma City are slick and hazardous.

The agency says the Texas Department of Transportation has closed I-40 west of Amarillo.

The Oklahoma agency says roads are closed or partially impassable in at least 11 counties throughout the state as the storm moves through.
