American Theatre Company (ATC) is excited to announce an outstanding cast for Wait Until Dark. The production opens the 2014-2015 season, ATC’s 44th. Wait Until Dark opens in the Williams Theatre at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center on October 10.

Forty-seven years after Wait Until Dark premiered on Broadway, Jeffrey Hatcher, A. Picasso and Scotland Road, has adapted Frederick Knott's 1966 original, giving it a new setting. In 1944 Greenwich Village, Susan Hendrix, a blind yet capable woman, is imperiled by men in her own apartment. Employing disguise and deception, the two newly acquainted crooks become all the more desperate and depraved.

As the climax builds, Susan discovers that her blindness just might be the key to her escape, but she and her tormentors must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller's chilling conclusion.

ATC’s cast is headed by Norah Sweeney as Susan. Norah has appeared in ATC’s Hamlet, and Twelfth Night. American Theatre Company veterans Brian Rattlingourd, (Of Mice and Men and 12 Angry Men,) and Jeremy Geiger, (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 12 Angry Men, The Taming of the Shrew, The Bomb-itty of Errors andAround the World in 80 Days,) assume the roles of Roat and Mike respectively. ATC audiences will remember Ashley Morecraft for her role in the recent East Village hit, She Kills Monsters and inA Christmas Carol. Rounding out the cast are Tim Hunter as Carlino and Nathan Arnold as Sam.

The production is directed by Robert Walters, (She Kills Monsters and12 Angry Men to name just two,) with scenery by Richard Ellis, costumes by Jo Wimer, lighting by Edward Durnal and sound design by Aaron Veale.
