15th Annual Wild Hearts Ball presents 2nd Chance Prom at Equality High
Oklahomans for Equality is having a prom. Remember your prom? Many of us were denied the right to go with the person we really wanted to go with to our high school prom. Some of us could not wear the outfit we wanted to wear to the prom. This is your chance to do the Prom your way at OkEq’s 2nd Chance Prom. Dust off those old prom dresses and tuxedos, or come with a totally new and funky creation of your own. Attend the prom you dreamed of. No date necessary.
The 2nd Chance Prom is February 13, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center, 621 E. 4th St., Tulsa. Admission is a donation to the Equality Center renovations fund
Dance the night away as you enjoy decades of top hits by DJ Crystal. Cheesy blue ...ruffled tuxedos, poofy taffeta dresses, clichéd themes, color coordinated corsages, sweaty palms, plenty of dad's Aqua Velva, awkward slow dancing, plush ride for the big night, the obligatory staged photo...
All of it adds up to one word: PROM!
You might be chosen Prom Royalty. So get your crew to vote for you. You could be our Prom Queen or Prom King and at Equality High, you can have two queens or two kings.
Principal Jenkins and Coach Sivadon along with Home Ec teacher Ms. Brewster will be chaperoning and judging the Dirty Dancing Contest. So work on your moves and gyrations.
Prizes will be given for the most outrageous corsage.
There will be a Cash Bar, Raffle prizes and cookies baked by the PTA. And yes, the punch is spiked.
Entertainment and childcare will be available upstairs in the wellness room.
Gamily will be throwing a Happy Hearts Day party upstairs during the Wild Hearts Ball. There will be crafts, snacks, music, and lots of glitter! Parents and guardians can drop the children off and enjoy the prom while the kids play, create and dance to their happy hearts content in the wellness room.
