Arizona pastor's "killing gays" remarks draw protests

Tempe, Ariz. (AP) — A Tempe pastor drew protests outside a church for his comments about homosexuals and AIDS.

The Arizona Republic reports that roughly 100 people demonstrated outside the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, where Pastor Steven Anderson giving a Sunday morning sermon.

Protesters criticized remarks Anderson made in a YouTube video of one of his sermons.

In the video, Anderson says that killing gay people is the way to ensure the world becomes free of AIDS.

The group, which included another pastor and a rabbi, carried signs with messages such as "AIDS is not a gay disease."

Anderson says he is not ashamed of his beliefs.
