Sing for democracy: All Souls hosts free community chorus before midterm elections

Tulsa, OK — All Souls Unitarian Church invites the community to join a powerful evening of music and civic participation on September 24, 2026. The "Choir for Democracy Sing" brings together singers of all abilities to perform songs about freedom and democracy as the nation heads into the midterm elections.

No experience necessary. No auditions required. Everyone is welcome to come and sing.

"This is about creating community around our shared values and commitment to democracy," said Dr. Randall Hooper, Director of Music at All Souls Unitarian Church. "Whether you're a seasoned vocalist or someone who only sings in the shower, you have a place here."

The evening will feature a carefully curated selection of choral music, including "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," "This Land is Your Land," spirituals, and other patriotic and freedom-themed works. Sheet music will be provided at the door, or attendees can bring a device to receive a digital copy.
