Bar Wars: A signature cocktail benefit for Other Options

Oklahoma City area restaurants and clubs will mix it up at the 2013 Bar Wars on Saturday, October 5, in a benefit for Other Options. Sixteen local bartenders will compete to win the honor of "best signature cocktail” of the 2013 event.

Bartenders represent some of OKC’s favorite establishments.

"We are very excited to be part of this event," Mary Arbuckle, executive director of Other Options explained. “Funds raised this year will assist Oklahomans who are affected by AIDS, including patients, families and care-givers."

Everyone attending can try the cocktails and vote for the winner. For those who like to nosh, there will be food from several bars and restaurants, entertainment, drinks and silent auction featuring original artwork, salons and spa gift packages and event tickets.

Bars and restaurants participating include 809 Sports Grill, Deep Fork Grill, Doll House, Iguana Grill, In the Raw, Jazmo'z, Major's, Picasso on Paseo, Rococo, Sipango Lounge, Social, Tamazul, The Boom, VZD's, Whiskey Chicks, WSKY Lounge, Bill Kamp's Meat Market and Nomad.

100 percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit Other Options. Ticket prices are $75 VIP, $25 general admission, and $10 designated driver. Tickets can be purchased online at www.otheroptionsokc.org or at the door on October 5. The event will be from 7-11pm at the IAO Gallery, 706 W. Sheridan Ave., OKC.
