Cimarron Alliance, Central Oklahoma’s LGBT advocacy and education organization, is taking a tremendous step toward equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Oklahomans by opening the first-ever LGBT Equality Center in Oklahoma City. The grand opening celebration Thursday, March 21 is expected to draw over 400 guests from around the state. The event starts at 6:00pm.

The Center is located in the Bank of America Building, 5613 N. May Ave, at the NW entrance to the building, in Oklahoma City.

Equality for LGBT Oklahomans remains a critical issue. With same-gender marriage making national headlines, central Oklahoma’s LGBT community needs a home-base for education, advocacy, cultural and other events. This has been a collective dream for many decades.

Through the generous support of LGBT and allied individuals, Cimarron Alliance is opening the doors to a place welcoming to all people concerned about true equality. Located in a highly-visible location, the new Cimarron Alliance Equality Center will demonstrate the worthiness of LGBT Oklahomans. The new center will send a powerful message that Oklahoma’s estimated 365,000 LGBT citizens are integral to life in the state.

Cimarron Alliance, is a 501(c)(3) organization whose vision is a Fair and Just Oklahoma. Its mission is to support educational efforts that validate personal identity, promote public enlightenment, and advance equality for LGBT Oklahomans.
