Tulsa's Toby Jenkins spoke to the Elder Institute at the Creating Change conference. He described hearing about SAGE (Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Elders) at a Creating Change conference a few years ago.

He came home fired up about serving seniors in Tulsa. "When we were forming our chapter we had to teach our organization how to be elder friendly." We want to "age more fabulously," he said. Now Tulsa's SAGE chapter has become a resource for LGBT eldercare in their area.

This is an example of the change that the annual conference can create in our communities.

Jenkins is the executive Director for Oklahomans for Equality (OkEq) based in Tulsa. OkEq is Oklahoma’s oldest gay rights organization which works for social justice and full inclusion for Oklahoma’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) citizens and their allies.
