Last week, Ellen DeGeneres gave a touching tribute to her wife in support of the marriage equality decision coming up in Australia. You can catch up on DeGeneres’s tribute here.

This week, Elton John took to Instagram to share a tribute to his husband, David Furnish. He too used this tribute to call for marriage equality in Australia.

John married Furnish in 2014 once same-sex marriage became legal in England.

“I’m so excited to be back in Australia for a series of shows,” John’s post said.

John went on to reflect on harder times in his life.

“Many years ago, I chose Australia for my wedding to a wonderful woman for whom I have so much love and admiration,” added John. “I wanted more than anything to be a good husband, but I denied who I really was, which caused my wife sadness, and cause be huge guilt and regret.”

In his post, John continued to discuss his journey and express how important it is to be able to marry the person you love.

Results on marriage equality will be made public on November 15th.
