EQKS: I can get married but I can't...

Focus on the Future of LGBT rights and policies in Wichita.

We may be able to marry, but we can still be fired from a job, denied housing, evicted, denied service, and many more legal discriminatory practices, just because of who we are and whom we love. The fight for equal rights and justice will continue far into the future.

Thats why its important to know the issues and how we can get involved in the community. Join us as we bring together several Wichita groups for a panel discussion to Focus on the Future of LGBT rights and policies.

The event will feature WiTCoN (Wichita Transgender Community Network), GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network), the LGBT Health Coalition, and EqKS (Equality Kansas). We will learn about the future focus of each group as it relates to LGBT rights and justice.

When: Thursday, October 15 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Where:Wichita State University campus in Hubbard Hall, room 231. Hubbard Hall is located on the north end of campus, just east of Koch Arena and the new Shocker Hall.

We are very appreciative of the School of Social Work at WSU and Dr. Douglas Crews for partnering with us to help sponsor this event.
