Eureka's Summer Diversity Weekend cancelled

This news just in from the Director of "Out in Eureka," Jay Wilks.

"It is with sadness that we have to announce Summer Diversity, scheduled for August 7-9, 2020, has been canceled.

The Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson, has extended the opening of large venue and events an additional 45 days from the planned May 21 date which pushes us into July. From there, the City of Eureka Springs has resended all event permits, including events in the park, Music events, parades, festivals, and entertainment in the AUD.

The city will review this matter on September 1, 2020.

We are still holding on to the hope of Fall Diversity, November 6-8, 2020, and Coco Peru is still scheduled to perform on Saturday, November 7 at the AUD.

Right now, as you all know, no matter where you live, that everything is up in the air and things are always changing. Eureka Springs has reopened under guidelines of state mandates, and you are always welcome In Eureka Springs even when there is not a Diversity event. If you come to Eureka Springs during this time, please check with your hotel for any specific requirements they have. Also, some shops have limited hours and call your favorite restaurant or venue. Some restaurants are only doing curbside or takeaway service. Some have limited seating.

Remember, your lodging establishments, restaurants, bars, spas and salons have a very strict protocol that they are required to adhere to, but please come and enjoy Eureka Springs.

We will keep you updated on Fall Diversity as more information is available and as Arkansas moves through the different phases of reopening safely.

Stay safe. Stay happy.

Jay and the Crew."
