The Gayly significantly increases web presence

When I was younger, I never saw myself “studying analytic data,” but here I am doing it. The funny thing is, it’s essential in operating The Gayly.
Nearly 15 years ago, I took over the helm of The Gayly. We had many ideas and visions for our media source, and a strong online presence was one of them.
However, many of you remember when my business partner and husband, Ken Townsend, died six years ago. I couldn’t keep up with everything, so our online presence suffered.
Back then, we garnered nearly 50,000 visits to our website per month, according to our analytics. However, it was when COVID hit, and we ended up with no regular employees. Therefore, we just didn’t have the team effort to feed the data and strengthen it.
Early this past fall, I decided it was time to build that presence up again and start posting our news online. More so than just updating the flip version of the paper on our website, that is.
As you can see in the pictures above, we have had prodigious results. From September 10 to October 9, 2025, we had roughly 6,200 web visitors.

It was just after that time that I began posting a variety of stories, both from the paper and from other sources. The result: our visits increased substantially from November 19 to December 18, 2025 - up to 38,000.

But we keep climbing. January had 97,000 visits (see above photo).
That’s fascinating data. Yeah, “fascinating data.” I said it! Data is supposed to be boring, but I find it fascinating. And for business owners, there’s never been a better time to advertise on our website.
