Ginger Lamar exposes her life at The Boom

The colorful life of drag performer and entertainer extraordinaire,Ginger Lamar, is revealed in "Ginger Exposed", written by Robert Matson. The comedy opened at the Boom Dinner Theatre, Sept. 13 and 14 and continues this weekend, Sept. 19,20 and 21 at 8 pm.

The story follows the true life of a young boy named, Greg and how a pair of his mother's heels leads him to a world of dresses, make-up, wigs and the name of Ginger Lamar. "It's one life split in two by a world of drag," says Robert Matson, "the life of Ginger Lamar, the performer and the life of Greg, the man behind the heels."

The play will be narrated by the legend herself, Ginger Lamar with theBoom's very own Renee Hilton as Ginger, the performer and Oklahoma City actor, Scott Hynes as Greg, the man. "The play is part theatre with a core of local actors playing various characters in Ginger's life," says Robert, "and part drag performance." The cast also includes Jackie Smola, Dougie Rankin, Robert Matson with special guest performances by Luxx Bentley and Stephanie DeBarge.

"Ginger's story also reveals history of OKC's past in the gaycommunity," says Robert, "the clubs, the performers and the people."

"Ginger Exposed" plays Sept. 13,14,19,20 and 21 at 8 pm with dinnerservice at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for the performance and can be reserved at www.rjmproductions.com or you can purchase them at thedoor.
