Lambda Literary names new Leadership

Lambda Literary works to advance LGBT literature, and serve both established and emerging writers.

Los Angeles, CA - Lambda Literary is pleased to announce new Board members and a shift in Board leadership for 2015.  KG MacGregor assumes the role of President and John Rochester assumes the role of Vice President.  Jerome Murphy will serve as Board Secretary and J. Michael Samuel continues in his role as Treasurer for a fourth term.

This new phase in Board leadership at Lambda Literary augurs well for the continued growth of the organization as it celebrates its 27th year advancing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender literature while continuing to strengthen and expand its programs that serve established and emerging writers and a broad community of readers.

With a PhD in mass communications research, KG MacGregor brings scholarly and business management experience to the organization. She has authored more than twenty lesbian romance novels, all published by Bella Books.

"It's an exciting opportunity to helm an organization I've admired since long before I ever wrote my first word of fiction," says MacGregor, who currently resides in Boone, North Carolina. "As LGBTQ characters become increasingly prominent in mainstream literature, it's more important than ever that we continue to tell our stories with authenticity. Lambda Literary is committed to helping preserve our unique queer culture."

John Rochester, who also serves as the Board President for Santa Fe Performing Arts, is a Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor for Morgan Stanley. John has received a number of awards for his charitable work including the National Volunteer of the Year for Colin Powel's America's Promise, The Alliance for Youth, What a Difference a Day Makes, as well as the Point of Light Award - The United States President's Volunteer Service Award.

"I am excited to be a part of the executive board of Lambda Literary as it continues to grow and evolve into the world's foremost resource for LGBTQ literature," says Rochester.

Incoming Secretary Jerome Murphy recently joined the Board last winter. He currently serves as the Program Administrator of the Creative Writing Program at New York University. J. Michael Samuel is Manager and VP of Professional Practices in Audit at First Republic Bank in San Francisco. Lambda Literary's other board members are: Lisa Girolami, Sandra Nathan, Denise Penn, Amy Scholder, S. Chris Shirley and Jan Zivic. For full bios visit www.LambdaLiterary.org.
