LGBT singer-songwriter dies in OKC

Donna DeSalvo, a well-loved singer-songwriter, died earlier this week in Oklahoma City.

Donna volunteered her time and talent at special events and fund-raisers through the years including such groups as Herland Sister Resources, The Greens Pet Committee and many more. She also sang with a group called "Circle of Friends" at her church.

DeSalvo is survived by family; brother, Jim DeSalvo of Barling, Arkansas; sisters, Annette Bedell of Seal Beach, California, and Denise Cornell of Houston, Texas; nieces and nephew, Scott and Lindsay Bedell, of Seal Beach, California and Katie Cornell of Houston, Texas. Her parents, Anthony B. and Mary Jim “Jimmie”, preceded her in death.

Her untimely death leaves a “host of friends” saddened by the loss, especially her partner, Jill.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” service held at 3pm on January 1st, 2013 at Church of the Open Arms, UCC located at 3131 N Penn Ave, Oklahoma City, OK.
