WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington National Cathedral is hosting the premiere of a new documentary about Matthew Shepard, along with a forum about gay rights to mark 15 years since the gay college student was killed in Wyoming.

The cathedral is hosting a screening Friday night of the new documentary "Matt Shepard Is a Friend of Mine."

The film about Shepard's life was made by Michele Josue, a close friend of Shepard's. She travels to locations in Shepard's life and interviews other friends and family members.

On Sunday morning, Cathedral Dean Gary Hall is hosting a forum with Shepard's mother, Judy Shepard, and with Jane Clementi, the mother of Tyler Clementi, an 18-year-old Rutgers University student who killed himself after his roommate made a webcast of him kissing another man.
