In the critical and final weekend before Minnesotans go to the polls to vote on a state constitutional amendment that would ban civil marriage between same-sex couples, Randy Roberts Potts project “The Gay Agenda” will travel to Minnesota. A series of installations of "The Gay Agenda" will be presented throughout the month and Potts himself will be in Minnesota Sunday, November 4 to headline the flagship event at Amore Coffee House (879 Smith Ave, W. St. Paul MN 55118).

“Showing heartland America that gay families are no different than anyone else is more important than ever,” said Potts, the gay grandson of famed televangelist Oral Roberts. “This project isn’t confrontational; it’s educational, and I can think of no better place to bring ‘The Gay Agenda’ and its message of acceptance than Minnesota at this key moment in the state’s history.”

Personally conceptualized by Potts, “The Gay Agenda” is a roving performance piece that uses unlikely locations as its stage, featuring a gay couple inhabiting a makeshift living room and engaging in an array of activities popular among gay couples: reading, checking email, cooking dinner, watching television and more. Viewers, who do not interact directly with the installation’s inhabitants, can observe with their own eyes the uncensored truth of what lies at the heart of the struggle for equal rights among gay Americans: the desire to live in peace and quiet dignity. Already, the project has been featured on CNN, The Rosie Show, Details Magazine and in newspapers across the country.

“It’s an honor to continue our collaboration with Randy on this momentous project,” stated Liberty Education Forum Executive Director Gregory T. Angelo. “‘The Gay Agenda’ brings a message of gay acceptance to people who need to hear it the most. We’re not preaching to the choir here; we’re changing hearts and changing minds by showing people in a very real way that gay people can be just as committed, just as loving, and just as typical as anyone else, with the same concerns and routines as any other American family.”

Liberty Education Forum is the exclusive national not-for-profit partner of the Randy Roberts Potts project, "The Gay Agenda."
