Have a gay old time at KC PrideFest

On June 1-3, join the Kansas City Diversity Coalition for KC PrideFest 2018. All the fun you can handle in one weekend will be at Berkley Riverfront Park in Downtown Kansas City.
Headlining performances will be provided by Frenchie Davis (American Idol Season 2), David Hernandez (American Idol Season 7), Bill Gilman (The Voice Season 11), DJ Roland Belmares, Material Girls and Thelma Houston.
Additional entertainment will be provided by local performers in the Kansas City metro area and beyond.

Last year’s event brought an unprecedented number of attendees, according to event organizers. This year, they project attendance in excess of 30,000.
The Kansas City Pride Festival started in 1975 to celebrate LGBT+ culture, and to commemorate the Stonewall riots, a pivotal moment which gave rise to the LGBT+ movement.
The city is going “Rainbow over Pride.” Several city landmarks and buildings have agreed to light up like a rainbow on June 1 & 2 for KC PrideFest. Thus far the list includes Seahorse Fountain on Meyer Circle along Ward Parkway, the Waldo Water Tower located at 75th and Holmes, the Downtown Marriott, Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral and Union Station.
Organizers expect the list of businesses to grow as the time for the festival gets closer.
It will be a gay old time on the Midway. New this year is the carnival midway which will include the 10 following adult rides: Ferris Wheel, Glass House, Mine Winder, Sizzler, Round Up, Cliffhanger, Hurricane, Himalaya, Ali Baba and the Ring of Fire.
With some awesome carnival-style food and five carnival games, attendees will have a chance to now feel the thrills while attending KC PrideFest.
There are ongoing activities like inflatables and fun activities at the Commerce Bank Kids Zone (Saturday and Sunday only from noon to 6:00 p.m.). Check out KC kite flying by Great American Kites and Events. If the weather is right, kites the size of semis will take to the sky.

Additionally, Riverfront Food Fair is featuring local cuisine on west and east sides of Festival Plaza, Marketplace with over 80 vendors, crafters, under the exhibits tents,
There will be animal adoptions, Renaissance Festival characters roaming the park, a youth tent for young adults ages 12-20, Volley Ball Tournament (call for more information) and Volley Ball Games on Sunday.
On Saturday, June 30, “Ride with Pride” at Worlds of Fun. This celebration will end the month-long Pride celebration. Discounted tickets and T-Shirts will be on sale on the website. DJ Chad Slater will be spinning the music in the Grand Pavilion for a private party being held for the LGBT community.
Single-day passes to KC PrideFest are $7.50; a presale weekend pass is $18.50 - online purchase only through May 27. Days of the festival, passes are $10 at the gate. Parking is $5.00 per day.
