World Stage Theatre Company presents "Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune"

World Stage Theatre Company continues their Timeless and Relevant stories season with Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune by Terrence McNally. Directed by Kathleen Hope, the play stars Angela McLaughlin as Frankie and Steve Barker as Johnny.
Play Synopsis: Two lonely souls meet after a first date—and what follows is an intimate, funny, and deeply human night of connection, vulnerability, and hope. Set in a small New York apartment, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune is a tender, honest portrait of love in the real world—messy, surprising, and full of possibility.
Terrence McNally was an American playwright, librettist, and screenwriter. He’s a four-time Tony Award-winning writer for his plays, Master Class, and Love! Valour! Compassion!, and the books for Ragtime, and Kiss of the Spiderwoman. He was also the 2019 recipient of the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune received two Tony Award nominations: Best Revival of a Play and Best Leading Actor for Stanley Tucci. Though the show had never been performed on Broadway, the show’s original 1987 off-Broadway production was produced in a significant professional manner, and thus qualified for the Tony Administration Committee’s rules designating the production as a revival. It was later revived in 2019, also receiving two nominations for Best Revival and Best Leading Actress for Audra McDonald.
Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune runs April 16-26, 2026, at World Stage Studio - 1130 s Harvard Ave., Tulsa, OK. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Ticket prices range from $15 to $ 25.
