Celebrity Attractions supports Alzheimer’s awareness with “Songs by Heart”

"The Notebook" will play eight performances at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center from Tuesday, June 16 through Sunday, June 21.

Partnering with Tulsa Opera in celebrating caregivers and artists through song!

Tulsa, OK - Celebrity Attractions and Tulsa Opera are proud to partner in support of Songs by Heart, an innovative, engagement-centered program serving individuals in memory care communities across the Tulsa area.

Developed to connect with individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, Songs by Heart brings professional opera singers into care communities to lead interactive musical experiences. Through techniques such as mirroring, eye contact, and gentle physical and verbal prompts, artists encourage residents to participate—sparking connection through singing, movement, and shared memory.

“Those with Alzheimer’s have lost their voice. Songs by Heart helps them find it,” shared one program artist. To honor the impact of this work, the producers of The Notebook have arranged for participating Songs by Heart artists and caregivers to attend the musical’s opening night in Tulsa. The gesture recognizes both the performers bringing music into care settings and the caregivers who support residents every day.

Originally launched in the Chicago suburbs in 2015, Songs by Heart now serves more than 50 memory care communities nationwide. Tulsa Opera recently introduced the program locally, expanding access to its meaningful, music-driven engagement.

The partnership comes as The Notebook arrives in Tulsa—a story deeply rooted in love, memory, and human connection.

The Notebook will play eight performances at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center from Tuesday, June 16 through Sunday, June 21. Tickets are available at CelebrityAttractions.com or through the Tulsa PAC Ticket Office.
