World AIDS Day program at OkEq in Tulsa

Oklahomans for Equality will host Dr. Perry Halkitis on World AIDS Day on Monday, December 1st. The Dennis R. Neill Equality Center will host a cocktail reception at 6:30pm followed with a lecture featuring Dr. Halkitis at 7pm. Dr. Halkitis recently published "The AIDS Generation" which documents the lived experiences of HIV-positive gay men who are presently middle-aged, long-term survivors of HIV/AIDS.

Sisters in Song and Council Oak Mens Chorale will perform during the In Memoriam portion of the program as we remember those who have died of AIDS. Community sponsors include Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, Tulsa CARES, PFLAG Tulsa, Sisters in Song, Tulsa Interfaith Alliance, H.O.P.E Health Outreach Prevention Education, Council Oak Mens Chorale, Grateful Day Foundation, the Hyatt Regency Tulsa and Phillips Theological Seminary.

Oklahomans for Equality’s Dennis R. Neill Equality Center is at 621 E. 4th St., in downtown Tulsa.
