Oh,Tulsa! Biennial opening and exhibition

Celebrate or critique the city of Tulsa
Oh, Tulsa! We are inviting you and others from across the state (and region) to the third Oh, Tulsa! Biennial! This is a competitive ‘Tulsacentric’ showcase of this fair city’s best artists making work about Tulsa and will be shown at Living Arts. Come see the beautified or bemoaned outpourings of Tulsa’s creatives! The 97 Artworks accepted into the show will be kitschy, serious, funky, and anything else representative of Tulsa. This is a great opportunity to experience a cross-section Tulsa’s contemporary art scene!
Formed in 1969, Living Arts of Tulsa is the longest continuously run non-profit contemporary arts organization in Oklahoma.
Oh, Tulsa! is said to be a tradition worth celebrating. Together, at Living Arts, you can explore the great city of Tulsa through the outstanding works of some of the city’s finest artists. This is the first time in many years that there is an event which challenges Tulsa artists to present their very best artwork every two years.
There will be paintings, drawings, installations, jewelry, performance works, video and photography. The competitive juried show will also bestow three artists with uniquely Tulsa awards of excellence and prize gifts.
All work was selected by the incredible, Julia Kirt. As the Executive Director for Oklahomans for the Arts, Julia Kirt encourages support for arts and culture across the state, especially increasing public investment. She joined the statewide advocacy organization in 2014. Previously, Kirt led the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition.
Please join us on August 7 from 6pm-9pm for the opening of this one of a kind exhibit at Living Arts, 307 East MB Brady St. in Tulsa; 6:15pm for the awards presentation and juror’s comments. The exhibition will be on display through August 28. For gallery hours or additional information, please visit www.livingarts.org/oh-tulsa-biennial-0 or call Living Arts at (918) 585-1234.
Since 1969, Living Arts of Tulsa has been steadfast in its mission of "presenting and developing contemporary art forms in Tulsa." www.livingarts.org.
